Housed inside a magnificent former Post Office building, The Frist offers world-class art exhibitions amid stunning Art Deco environs. There's always a free gallery open to idle downtown strollers, but the real draws are the top-flight exhibits in the main galleries. The popular Friday night ARTini events are a good way to meet new folks over drinks and a discussion about art, and the attached cafe serves lunch fare that's more than worth the modest prices.
