Lady Gaga
Back in February of 2008, Metromix New York threw a Valentine’s Day party at a now-defunct club called Le Royale. And even though the concept of the event was highly suspicious ("X your Ex"...what?) and the free booze tasted like cotton candy (not really our flavor), the live act got our attention. The leather-clad hottie on the mic was an unknown burlesque-cabaret singer name Stefani Germanotta—known now throughout the universe as Lady Gaga. Yes, we called her a hottie—we hate that term, but it’s true. And while we can't exactly claim credit for "discovering" the new millennium's hottest pop star, at least we can say we knew her way back when. We even did an interview with her. Gaga, call us!
