Byrd's Eye View: Salsa Meetup
It may not be summer yet, but things are already heating up in Nashville. And thanks to the fine fellows behind The Salsa Bash, things are looking a lot sexier too.
Founded by three friends who share a love of Latin music, Pablo Bodini and Jonathan Blanco of Funtopia and Carey James Balboa of Diablos que Bailan, this regular gathering has been taking place at Mad Donna's for nearly a year, welcoming dancers of all ages and backgrounds. It's perfect for those tired of the usual bump and grind on the nightclub scene.
There's no need to watch from your barstool, either - free lessons are offered at the start of every party, the dance floor is open to salsa lovers of all levels and dance partners are always just a friendly smile away.
Join the party on March 20, when The Salsa Bash returns to Mad Donna's and check out the Swing Latino Orchestra for live salsa on April 10 at Flyte. Classes are also offered every Wednesday at Fit Nashville. Learn more at www.diablosquebailan.com.
