Byrd's Eye View: Carnival at Lime
DID SOMEBODY SAY SAMBA?
Each year, more than half a million festive folks flock to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for Carnival, a wild, four-day celebration leading up to Fat Tuesday and the beginning of Lent after which one is supposed to abstain from all bodily pleasures. The annual celebration is considered to be an act of farewell to the pleasures of the flesh. But why should the Brazilians get to have all the fun? On Sunday night, Lime played host to a Carnival party complete with sexy Samba dancers, a live percussionist, Brazilian cuisine and two for one Caipirinhas and Sambatinis. It may have been cold outside but the temperature inside was hot, hot, HOT!
