Byrd's Eye View - Holland House welcomes new spirit
Guests of the Holland House in East Nashville got to sample something new on Monday night when the cocktail house hosted a tasting party showcasing the latest spirit to join their already impressive lineup. Bols Genever, a Dutch spirit made only in Holland, contains a secret blend of botanicals and maltwine. Founder Lucan Bols began distilling the spirit in 1644 and the company began exporting the product to the United States in 1820 where it quickly became a standard ingredient for cocktails.
