Byrd's Eye View: Nashville4Africa

Big Kenny Alphin of Big & Rich gathered a few of his closest pals to support a cause that's close to his heart at the Nashville4Africa benefit at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center last week. Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Jars of Clay, 3 Doors Down, Third Day, The Steeldrivers and Damien Horne were just a few of the artists who lent their talents to the cause that helps to send medical supplies to and educate children in Sudan and Uganda.
Having visited Africa in 2006 and being shocked by the poverty in some areas, Dierks Bentley was enthusiastic about joining the lineup - so much so that he seized the opportunity to get the African Children's Choir, who also performed at the event, into the studio. The kids, all under the age of 11, joined Bentley at Ocean Way Studios to sing backup vocals and harmonies on a song, the title of which remains a secret.
