Byrd's Eye View- Yard Dogs Road Show at Exit/In
A hobo cabaret in Music City
Have you ever wanted to run away and join the circus? Me neither, but honestly, after watching the Yard Dogs Road Show last week, I would definitely reconsider that stance. The traveling cartoonish cabaret of burlesque performers, musicians, magicians, sword swallowers and so much more made a stop in Nashville last Wednesday night for a performance at Exit/In. The 13-member troupe hails from San Francisco and is led by musician and author Eddy Joe Cotton, who started the band back in 1998. It has since grown into an eye-popping show featuring gorgeous song and dance numbers from the Black and Blue Burlesque troupe and zany vaudeville comedy routines all animated to live music. It’s hauntingly beautiful and absolutely worth travelling to another city, near or far, to catch the show.
