Make 'em laugh
Monkeys and meercats
Let's face it: furry critters make for some pretty good laughs. And we've got some great ones right here. The Nashville Zoo's Web site notes that the Schmidt's Guenon monkey, with its extra-long hind legs and tail, can bark "22 distinct vocalizations, including alarm calls, chirps, loud sneezing sounds and low croaking noises." Chirping monkeys? Yes, please!
And that's nothing compared to the Siamangs. These tailless apes have enlarged throat sacs that can grow to larger than the human head just for amplifying their vocals. These guys make a nagging spouse or a snoring mother-in-law seem like a church mouse.
And if the monkeys aren't enough to prompt a snicker, there are always those wacky meerkats.
