Our book's key collaborator, talented photographer Rebekah Pope, will be speaking and signing as well. Our book is an art documentary coffee table-style. Rebekah's stunning black-and-white photography accompany my stories of 18 middle Tennessee families living with autism.

Saturday December 26, 2009 8:46 we entered the restaurant. We were told the wait was 15min. I asked the lady at the front desk ”has it always been this way” she responded “well we aren’t usually this busy, and they let a couple waitresses go home and we’ve never been had it pick back up.” We weren’t seated till 9:20ish. The only thing is that there were empty tables everywhere. We had 8 people it would have only taken at the most 10 minutes to put two tables together. Well people were coming in about 4 groups of four and were seated before we were. Well the girl who was suppose to be the hosted never stayed at the front. Another customer was waiting at the front, I told her “you could just leave they would never know” she said,” No I’ve been waiting for her to bring me my change.” So it was after the 15 minutes I asked her how much longer. “she said they were cleaning the table now” we weren’t seated about 15minutes after that. So we were seated around 9:25. We were seated and the waitress took our drink order a few minutes later. Well it was a while till we had our drinks. We ordered around 9:40 I knew that because we were wondering how long it would take to get our food since we were almost there for about an hour, and was just seated. I ordered a NY strip but she said they didn’t have any strips or shrimp, she said the only thing was 6 & 10oz sirloin. I wanted a soup instead of a salad and was just going to give that to my mother instead of her having to pay for one. So she said ok, like she understood. Well we finished our order and the waitress seemed alright at the moment. It took close to that bout 15min just for the salads and soup to come out. Well we thought we got the whole soup thing straightened out but I guess not. She brought our food and I was thinking to myself, “my soups for her, that’s why I changed my salad to soup.” So I said,” well she ugh, never mind its whatever.” Thinking it wasn’t that big of a deal. And we all went on about our business. And I gave my soup to my mother, because she was hungry. I got up to see what it was like out in the lobby area where we had entered and no one was there, so I went to the bathroom. On the way back I asked the bartender for some lemons. I spilled water on my cousin from squeezing lemons and it went all over her. Well we just wiped it up no big deal, but the other employees just walked passed us and didn’t offer to help or anything. No big deal..Well about 30 more minutes past and someone else brings our food out. And an extra burger we didn’t order, but they took that with them. “Let me remind you that in that 30 or more minutes we were waiting for our food nobody came to check on us or offer refills.” So we asked where our original waitress went. I quote the lady said, New waitress and “so called manager”: she left Us: left well what happened, we haven’t had anyone come to check on us in a while New waitress and “so called manager”: well she just didn’t want to wait on you anymor

You wouldn't happen to have caught a photo of the redhead girl in all black with a green lightsaber working before the show? I was Mara Jade that night and though there were a lot of pictures taken I can't find a single one!

Had my very first Center Point Bar-B-Que exspirence just the other day. Pasted by a couple of time and I have wanted to try it out. The sandwich was very good and the service was nice too. And it is right down the street from my most favorite restaurant, Woody's Steak House.
hillhousekaren wrote about Nashville Film Institute
Nashville Film Institute located at the Factory in Franklin is a great new non-traditional option to film school. With their small classes (only 12), hands-on learn-by-doing approach, I wish this opportunity had been available five years ago when a certain friend of mine first thought of going to film school. Some people don't need a four year degree to excel, and some, like my friend, do better if they approach learning with real tangible goals and don’t have to wait years to get to the interesting stuff. Take eight months and come out with a portfolio including a music video, a documentary and a short feature. This is a great opportunity to dive right in. Truth is, this friend has already signed up for the January 2010 class. And I can’t decide who is more excited about the prospect, me or him? I heard they were going to be working with some very interesting people, and I’m hoping to catch some of their free public workshops on Thursday evenings. If you or someone you know, is unhappy with the traditional college option and they have a desire to become a part of the growing Tennessee (or elsewhere) professional film industry they should give NFI a look. Cheaper than a four year degree, and more rewarding from the first day. Lights, camera, action… yeah, I might even want to go to some classes myself. But don't take my word for it check them out. Oh, I almost forgot the coolest thing! Tuition includes a laptop and state of the art professional grade film editing programs, so graduates are ready to roll the moment they walk out the door.

The newly opened Flatrock Cafe is a fantastic new music venue and a wonderful place for coffee and lunch. The food is fresh, tasty and healthy. The cafe is a great addition to the Nolensville Road area. Try the gourmet soups and sandwiches. On the weekend it's a great place to gather with friends to listen to live music and have a locally-produced beer. The owner Ronnie Haislip has been in the car business on Nolensville Road for decades and is a great host with the new cafe. He is giving back to the community with this new establishment. Check it out - you won't be disappointed!

Just curious if you ever cover county music. Nashville? Home of country music?

We went into this restaurant with a large party to celebrate a birthday. The food was slow getting to our table and was cold in some cases. When we paid, my card was charged twice, thus causing additional problems with my account. We had considered using this restaurant for our rehearsal dinner (25-30 people) but they have now been removed from the short list.

This is one of my favorite breakfast places in Nashville. It's nothing fancy, but the food is good, the servers are very sweet and efficient and the biscuits and gravy are to die for. Two people can eat huge breakfasts for $14 plus tip.

A little off the beaten path from Music Row. This place has become my office and chill spot. They keep me caffeinated in the morning and provide beer & music at night. The description above is not accurate though. They no longer have steamer sandwiches or a print shop, but they have paninis and free wi-fi. I liked the steamers a lot, but the paninis are healthier and have better flavor.
iDoGiveAFlip commented on Byrd's Eye View - A Country Christmas
How lovely. So, my guess is that The Rockettes perform this identical show in several cities every year. Also Nashville. Also, my guess is that in most every city other than Nashville, the show is now called "Country Christmas." But Nashville's changed its name to Gay Lord, and the Lord believes that if you apply the word "Country" early and often to all its advertisement then the snaggle-toothed will come a runnin', dressed in their finest tater sacks and fork over all their hard-earned butter 'n' egg money to those carpet baggers from Texas, the Gay Lords. Dog my cats.

Intersting addition to broaden our choices but most of the female actreses ned the Nashville South beach diet. Also, maybe the casting pool needs to consider aplicants from places other than a trailer park.
