Well, at least Skylar Laine did something different with Heard It Through the Grapevine. It's not her finest moment -- like Jessica, she seems to be shouting when she can't quite figure out how to sing the song. But it's nothing like the Marvin Gaye version of the song. Or Gladys Knight's. Or Creedence Clearwater Revival's. It'd be a fun cover in concert, but it's not all that great.
