"Ghostbusters III"
Originals: Parapsychologists use witticisms, science and chutzpah to save New York City from demons, poltergeists, and a giant character trademark run amok.
The sequel: Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) now heads Ghostbusters, Inc., a global chain of paranormal pest control centers. His retired partners—Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson)—host basic cable reality competition, “America's Next Ghost Busters,” in which young wannabes (played by Kal Penn, Kristen Bell, Justin Long and Jennifer Hudson) vie for full-time Ghostbuster status.
When New York is threatened by Hindu demons Shumbh and Nishumbh (thought vanquished long ago by the goddess Chandika), the original team reunites, only to be defeated. In the end, the proton packs are passed to the new generation of Busters who rescue their mentors, vanquish the fiends and save the day.
