Original: Tough guy trucker Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) and smart-mouthed lawyer Gracie Law (Kim Cattrall) battle supernatural Chinese warriors.

The sequel: Jack Burton and still-sassy (if somewhat oversexed) Gracie Law return to Chinatown to stop a death cult intent on resurrecting nemesis Lo Pan.

Quentin Tarantino—a fan of the original who recently worked with Russell on  “Death Proof”—takes the helm and pushes the action to new extremes for a “Kill Bill”-meets-“Mortal Kombat” wire-fu gorefest that's as much an “homage” to the original as a follow up.
