This year's Independence Day celebration at Riverfront Park brings together a crowd-pleasing cross-section of Nashville's diverse music community. Wynonna (fresh off her CMA reunion with mom Naomi) will treat the crowd to a set of hits and patriotic standards. Nashville trio Gabe Dixon Band (who you may have recently heard in the opening scene of The Proposal) will deliver its affable, Elton-esque piano rock. The Fisk Jubilee Singers will perform the national anthem with the Nashville Symphony, which, in turn, will score the massive fireworks display just after 9 p.m. Provided you can grab a decent spot, this is one of the best free events the city puts on all year. — DP
