Between The Black Keys' extensive output and their collaborations with the likes of Mos Def and Ludacris for their Blak Roc project, can you blame BK head Dan Auerbach for needing some time alone?

He gets that, along with the chance to branch out from his band's primal proceedings, with his solo debut, Keep it Hid.

Between the gorgeous ambient folk of "When the Night Comes," the gutsy blues stomp that propels "I Want Some More" and the garagey strut of "My Last Mistake," the disc mixes enough fresh sonic treats (and a few familiar ones) to please Auerbach's fans while reeling in new leagues of admirers.

Joining Auerbach at the Cannery are former Nashvillian and rising Americana star Justin Townes Earle and Ohio singer-songwriter Jessica Lea Mayfield, whose debut album was produced by Auerbach.

9 p.m. Sat., Nov. 21, Cannery Ballroom (1 Cannery Row, 251-3020), $20 advance, $25 day of show
