Nashville modern rockers Novelift nail the tone of pretty much every Brit-rock great on their new self-released full length.
The opening title track takes the vigorous stomp and minor-key complexity of Radiohead's "Electioneering," followed by a track that unravels with the tender exposition and quivering vocals of Travis, before pounding out an epic Muse-esque outro. The next two tracks are a pair of skittering and spare electronic tunes that could sonically squeeze right into In Rainbows.
Still, obvious touchstones aren't necessarily a bad thing in this genre -- especially when said acts have since moved miles away from their stylistic peaks. Clouds might boil down to emulation, but it's an inspired and admirable example of it.

Anyone can write Radiohead rip off songs; that's not new or exciting. The whole record is predictable and stale.
