Byrd's Eye View: Hot Rocks
The weekly Monday night dance party at The 5 Spot known as “Keep on Move’n” changed things up a bit and moved across the river to the Mercy Lounge for a one-off event on Jan. 23 under the name “Hot Rocks.” Apparently the festivities on the East side had become so successful that demands for an additional night once a month or so at a venue other than The 5 Spot, had to be met. DJs Jacob Jones and Reno Bo were on hand to provide the Motown and funk classics that kept folks well, moving, as well as Lower Broad staples Heath Haynes and the Hi-Dollars. Look out for additional outings from these fine gentlemen coming soon, but not to worry, you can still catch them every Monday night for their weekly residence at The 5 Spot too.
