The Crüe's domination of the hair-metal scene continued in 1987 with the release of "Girls, Girls, Girls," whose title track, with its strip club video, was a big radio and MTV hit. The band had a brush with disaster later that year, however, when Nikki Sixx was pronounced dead from a heroin overdose before paramedics could revive him with two shots of adrenaline to his heart. The incident inspired the song "Kickstart My Heart," as well as the entire band's decision to enter rehab and clean up their act.
