The decently big Cannery Ballroom was a favored country homestead as just The Cannery, but in its current incarnation, it largely holds hyped indie, rock and pop shows. It shares ownership with Mercy Lounge, which sits upstairs from it. This allows management to book a wider range of artists, including bands that draw bigger crowds than Mercy can accommodate. Especially with the recent closure of City Hall, its size fills an important void in Nashville's venue universe, and sound-wise, it has continued to improve year to year.
