Our favorite 50 tracks of 2011, from Adele, LMFAO, the Black Keys and a band or two you probably never heard of
2011 was actually a pretty great year for music in all genres. Good old-fashioned rock reared its shaggy head once more thanks to bands like the Foo Fighters and Mastodon; country gave us anthems both ridiculous ("Red Solo Cup") and sublime ("Tattoos on This Town"); electronic music minted a few new superstars (Skrillex, David Guetta); pop brought us more guilty pleasures from Britney, Gaga and LMFAO; and rap ruled the airwaves and our iPods with some hot new trends (choruses? we don't need no stinkin' choruses!).
