Georgia Anne Muldrow
Like Mayer Hawthorne, this genre-blending twentysomething is an engaging Angeleno from Stone's Throw label's respected roster. But unlike him, she's got as much Björk as Chaka Khan in her expansive soul. With the "Worthnothings" EP and "Olesi" full-length debut firmly beneath her belt, she's lately taken to collaboration with fellow Stone's Throw artist Dudley Perkins, known variously as Declaime and the cousin of legendary DJ Madlib. Wherever she goes next will no doubt be informed by her musical history: Her mother worked with jazz legend Pharaoh Sanders and her father built instruments for tenor saxophonist Eddie Harris.
