Born in 1956 and kicking ass ever since, this New York superheroine is currently spearheading the soul revivalist movement across genre lines. Whether with with her drum-tight backup band the Dap-Kings or moonlighting as a collaborative chanteuse with artists as different as Phish and Michael Bublé, Jones has invigorated the new school with flawless performance and ferocious delivery. She's already huge, but expect to hear much more from her and the Dap-Kings after their third effort, "I Learned the Hard Way," drops in April.
