What’s 1.7 million downloads worth these days? If your name is Cobra Starship, not much. Even though “You Make Me Feel…”, the lead single from this fourth album, was one of the year’s most popular songs, “Night Shades” flopped hard, selling only 9,000 copies in its first week and quickly plummeting off the charts altogether. Cobra Starship’s previous effort, 2009’s “Hot Mess,” wasn’t a blockbuster, either, but it outsold “Night Shades” in its first week by a factor of nearly five. Talk about being a "singles-only" band.
