30 years after their first show at storied venue, Heartbreakers return
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers launched their latest national tour with a sold-out show on Tuesday night at Denver’s historic Red Rocks Amphitheater. The now 59-year-old Petty and his trusty backing band first played the legendary venue almost exactly 30 years ago to the day. On this night, the classic rockers ran through a selection of hits from throughout their history, from “Refugee” and “Running Down a Dream” to “Mary Jane’s Last Dance,” “Free Fallin’” and “You Don’t Know How It Feels.”
