The food and wine alone would make this East Nashville place a worthwhile stop, but the music is sometimes even better than the food. Americana and rock 'n' roll are favored here; Cole Slivka's singer-songwriter Shortsets series is another highlight. When a full band kicks up - and they do kick up, don't let the room's cozy confines fool you - it makes dinner conversation a tad rough. But the quality of the booking and the famous shepherd's pie make the Wash a fine stop for dinner, music or both.
