Star Cafe has plenty of bragging rights, and almost all that they do, they do well, especially fried chicken. For folks running the chain restaurant gauntlet in Rivergate, take an extra five minutes and cruise into Goodlettsville for a home-cooked lunch or early dinner. Inside it's pure bumpkin, with clothing stretched over seat backs and boots anchored in table legs. Mismatched tables add a homey air. The menu, scrawled in chalk on a large board, makes it plain what your choices are, but by all means, go for the chicken.
