Not as boisterous as some of the other gay clubs in the area, Blue Genes is a small neighborhood bar with a casual atmosphere. There are more men than women, with a mix of ages, and it seems to be most busy in the early evening. Patrons of the club cite low drink prices and the easygoing atmosphere as reasons to return. Blue Genes is part of the Church Street GLBT district.
