Cooper's on Porter serves up inventive menu
By Nancy Vienneau
The transformation of a neighborhood blight into a neighborhood boon always merits applause. Where East Nashville's Porter Road intersects with Eastland Avenue, a once ramshackle nursing home is now a vibrant multiuse development, housing a Montessori school, a bakery, a salon, a gallery and affordable apartments for deaf and hearing-impaired people.
Anchoring this refurbished strip is Cooper's on Porter, a cozy gastropub where owner-chef Cooper Brunk pairs creative food with a vast selection of American microbrewed beers.
