Whoever wrote the cover blurb for The Wheel is way out of touch. This is one of the two honky-tonks on Broadway that consistently offer real, classic country music. The staff is friendly. The music is great. The beer is cold. What more can you ask?

The waitress first informed me that "we don't have sangria here". When I told her that it was red wine like merlot, fruit, and usually triple sec and/or brandy, she eventually brought me a water glass full of ice and a thin dark liquid that tasted faintly of fruit. The bill at the end of the night had an "open liquor" charge of $4 and a $6 "upcharge" for the sangria that the Grill refused to alter. The nachos had barbecue sauce! and service was poorer than average. Still, from the overall looks of the place, I'll consider it a winner of a night if the kitchen didn't give me the stomach flu.

A dive bar? I expected noise and the reek of old cigarette smoke and stale beer. What a wonderful surprise. WiFi is available. Three TV,s were tuned football but the sound was off. The group ensconced at the bar ranged from young musicians to young elders and several ages in between. There was no old smoke/beer smell I associate with a good dive. The place is spotlessly clean and the patrons welcoming. My bacon burger was just this side of heaven and the beer selection great. They have music some nights and I know the featured singer last night is a great blues crooner. .New Years Day was the first time I visited this well known 'dive bar'. I plan to make it my new home away from home.

I stopped at the Caney Fork driving up North to see my family. It was the coolest place I have ever seen! My kids enjoyed themselves so much they didn't want to leave. The food was excellent - beyond excellent - the best ribs I have ever eaten! The service was excellent. I planned my return trip so I would be at the Caney Fork at dinner time! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone - especially those with kids - they won't want to leave!

This past weekend I went to Woody's Steakhouse ( which is the same place as woodys restaurant, i looked it up ) but anyway went to woody's for a murder mystery dinner theater. After a few glasses of wine I loosed up and did not mind how freaking crowded it was and some guy was in my lap. Well anyway had a blast, the steak was killer and the wine was good. loved it and will be back.

We ordered when Jet's first located here in Brentwood and it was awesome. Sadly, it has morphed into another awe word.. awful. There seems to be no desire for quality. We have asked, no, begged for extra cheese the last two orders and get less than we should. There are still a couple of good pizza places in the area. Jet's is not getting our business anymore.

csblinky wrote about Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint

In fact, there are plenty of better places. I ordered a BBQ Platter. I got barely enough meat for a sandwich and two scanty sides with meh texas toast for 10 bucks. The meat was soggy and looked like it had been in a steamer way too long. They slathered a scant amount of sauce my pork for me and didn't bother to provide any additional. I had to ask the waitress for more and she promptly forgot so then I went and stood at the pickup window to get it myself. They only have two sauces - the waitress told me one was for the pulled pork and the other for the ribs - but frankly neither was very good. We had slaw, beans, and potato salad for our sides. The beans were pretty good but the slaw and potato salad were just ok. We also had the fudge pie which is very good but for 4 bucks I expected more than the tiny slice I got. All in all - I've had plenty better. They need to work on their pulled pork. I'd recommend chopping it to serve instead of pre-chopping it and putting it in steam which apparently they do. I would also recommend getting some more sauce variety and putting it out for the customers intead of making them beg the too busy wait staff for it. I do like the format of the place with the music and stand up ordering - and we really enjoyed sitting out back on the porch. But the food quality and portions are just not there. Sorry Martins - but either you need some work or you are getting sloppy. You get 3 out of 5.

JoeDennis wrote about Pie in the Sky Pizza

I've tried to enjoy this place as much as I do enjoy their pizza. Tried maybe a half dozen times within the past few months but it just sucks every time trying to eat in the restaurant. I have learned my lesson though and will only get their pizza delivered from now on. Why you ask? Well... The minute you enter the building you can tell they are very cheap with the air conditioning. Very cheap. Like all summer long when its hot as heck air conditioning is virtually non existent. I'm talking suffocating hot and dripping in sweat within 5 minutes kinda hot. I've asked my server to have them turn up the air on several occasions and they always say the managers have done it but that's just a lie. Never gets any cooler after a request. The place always has a ton of kids running around and screaming and throwing pizza dough unsupervised by parents . Yes you heard me right, Dough throwing seems to be the cool thing for kids to do and is encouraged there as the servers and cooks actually give them pizza dough to chuck around. Filthy dirty tables with big chunks of food and dough all over the floor and crumbs in all the chairs and booths. The entire staff is very rude and the service is pathetic. Most of the time you cant get a drink refill or dirty plates removed during the course of a meal. Quite a few times I could't get any ice in my drink because they run out of ice often. Servers are usually nowhere to be found. When its slow this is also true except you do know where your server is. Instead of providing service they all hide out together by the hostess area or the bar gossiping and playing with cell phones. You can forget about a manager coming out to get their servers to actually work. They obviously find this behavior acceptable or simply don't care. Regardless, I wont waste another cent on gas and tipping to enjoy their pizza again. Good for delivery only. Still very expensive though.

TeddyReview wrote about Papa Chen's

This is the worst Chinese restaurant that I have been to. This is a buffet, yet there were so many places that were either not filled or only had one or two pieces left. The food looked like it had been there for a while and was in no way fresh. The cook made the comment that they were not busy - we were there at 6:00 pm on a Saturday - well now I know why they are not busy. My advice, don't eat there!!

NashVegas wrote about Sperry's

Our daughter was in town - had not seen her since Christmas - so we celebrated with a special dinner at Sperry's. Wonderful meal and service. Though we had made a reservation for the dining room, we decided we'd rather eat in the lively bar area when we got there, and the hostess most graciously made this happen for us with a minimum wait. Got a great table and ordered a bottle of fantastic wine: Lucente Super Tuscan. Best deal on the wine list ($65 and tastes like a $150 wine), and Sperry's is the only restaurant in town where I've seen it on the list. My daughter has been on a vegetarian diet, so she ordered the big 16 oz NY Strip - and said it was the best thing she had eaten in months. My wife ordered the stuffed sole special and found it tantalizingly good. I had an "Oscarized" rib eye - which means it is topped with crab meat and Bernaise sauce. This is not on the menu, but any steak at Sperry's can be Oscarized, and I highly recommend it. Made a great steak even better. Service was unfailingly good throughout our meal. All in all, a wonderful evening.

toothfairy wrote about Papa Chen's

We decided to dine there this weekend, and found out that customer services is as absent as HOT FOOD. While the food was 'good'....it was not even lukewarm. In fact, some of the food would have had to be heated just to be brought up to room temperature. When we brought this to the attention of a server, she said she would check. When we were paying, we mentioned it again....and you wouldn't believe the excuses we got.....everything from 'YOU WERE HERE EARLY' to 'IT IS BECAUSE OF THE AIR CONDITIONER'...you'd think that common sense would tell you if we had gotten there early, the food should have been HOT and FRESH.....causes me to wonder if it was even fresh....and if the A/C is so cold that it makes the ENTIRE buffet cold, that is a poor business decision. I seriously doubt we will be going back. Doesn't the Health Department regulate temperature of foods? Just beware of the temperature and lack of customer service....

BrandiHood wrote about Shoney's

I would like to preface this by saying I love Shoney's, in particular the Shoney's in Nashville, TN, at White Bridge Road. My parents met here, twenty five years ago when my mom was a server and my dad was a dishwasher. I had more than one birthday dinner here as a kid. My parents even had a sit down dinner with me here when I was ten to tell me (gulp) that there was no tooth fairy. So, although the food quality and service quality has been going down at this location for a while, I kept coming. Tonight was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant ever. My server was very slow, and she messed up both my order (I asked for no onions or mayo, and got both on my burger) and my cousin's order (he asked for no tomatos, and got what seemed to be extra tomatos). But I was willing to overlook that. I asked for a hot fudge cake. Since I can't eat ice cream (gallbladder has issues with dairy products), I suggested to my cousin, in front of my server, that he could eat the ice cream, and he could have the ice cream. Since our service had already been slow, my cousin joked that we should make note of the time. Good thing we did. Twenty two minutes later, I recieved a hot fudge ice cream sundae. I was frustrated, but having been a server, I understood what it was like to juggle a menu and I said forget it, trying to be polite. Then, as I waited at the register, I heard my server, LOUDLY, in the kitchen with the open door, complaining about me to the cook staff. I heard that I was a "liar", that she "knew what [I] said," and how she'd "better be getting a tip." Baffled, my cousin loudly said, "You know we can hear you, right?" I can't imagine what would've been said he let it go further. So, I'll never go back to Shoney's again. And unfortunately, this story will be repeated to many others. The constantly revolving staff, management, and changing menus were offputting enough, but the rudeness is intolerable.

Dparmley wrote about Shogun

Me and my family went there to eat last night (April 14th). There was no wait which was good. I wanted to use my sharing spree for the hibachi grill since my husband or stepson doesn't like sushi so I asked the host if we could, she said yes and walked us to our table. The food was ok, a little salty and the chef didn't seem thrilled to be there. He did like 2 tricks, I've experienced better. When the bill came I gave our waitress my sharing spree (coupon) and she told me we couldn't use it on hibachi. I explained to her that I asked the hostess about that and she told me it was ok. Our waitress went and got a manager (I'm assuming thats who she was) The manager proceeded to tell us that she apologizes for the hostess mis-informing us but she could not honor the coupon. I explained to her that the reason we chose to sit in the hibachi section was because we were granted permission to use our sharing spree there. The manager rudely said, "if you woulda read the sharing spree, it says it's for sushi and drinks only" Well DUH!!! That's why I asked if theyd honor the dang coupon for hibachi!! Needless to say, she never honored the sharing spree, refused to fix what was promised to us, rudely walked away and THEY were the ones at fault. Horrible customer service, food wasn't that great, and our chef was not impressive AT ALL!!

jasonr wrote about Back to Cuba Cafe

I didn't have a metromix account until 5 minutes ago - I just had to say something. This is one of Nashville's best kept secrets. The atmosphere here is one of absolute welcome, where you instantly feel at home, as the place is decorated with Cuban heirlooms that display a sweet love for the culture, and the aroma of homecooked food fills the air. The food is surprisingly delicious - not because of any judgments you have about the place, or about Cuban food, but because you just don't expect to be in the presence of something that is so satisfying, so appropriate for itself, so divinely gratifying. It is evident that every dish that is prepared here is done so with love. The staff is clearly genuinely happy to be there, and don't hesitate to cheerfully (yes, cheerfully - what planet are we on?) accommodate you, all the way down to the details - the "little things" that turn an enjoyable dining experience into a fullfilling one. A perfect place to bring a friend to relax and celebrate life. Definitely give this place a visit sometime.

Wow....I think this place was great! Ordered the guacamole as an appetizer, and baja fish taco's, and it was absolutely delish....the tortillas are small, but at least you can actually taste the fish because its twice the size of the tortilla. I think personally the first review posted is way off because our bill was $49.00 and we had three drinks.....I will definitely be back!

WARNING !!! I am Jewish and got tricked into eating pork. Ordered the Chicken Fried STEAK and it was pork instead. This goes against my religious beliefs. Mentioned to the waiter and he said that it's been that way for years. He was from Texas and disagreed with them calling it Chicken Fried Steak since it's not beef. They should more clearly label the food. Fried Pork Loin is totally different from CFS. Imagine those people with heart conditions who cannot eat pork either. Huge legal liability. But on a side note: the chocolate meringue pie was totally sinful.... of course, I'm going to Hell anyways for eating the pork. So I guess I should have had another slice of pie!!!
